Attention of a 4 year old
So..today is our first day back. Some think we are easing into our school year by not having kids these first few days, and instead we are having meetings. For me...I would rather have my kids. Not that these meetings are not informative..they are. They would be infinitely more informative if I could pay attention for more than 10 minutes. I find myself just like the four year olds in my class. Finding random things on the table to play with...planning my lunch (which in pre-k terms would be planning which center to go to)...chatting with friends....and let's not forget daydreaming. I am reminded today why we get up and move every 15 minutes in my class. I would never ever want to sound like the teacher from Charlie Brown. Now onto more important things. My fairy godmother came last and turned me back into Mrs. Williams. While waving her magic wand (my husband's wallet) she created my back to school ballgown...well...pencil skirt, blouse. No glass slippers, but some fabulous gray stilettos. ::Swoon:: I hope they do not disappear at the stroke of midnight.
