Attack of the Cubbies

I need order in my life. I also teach pre-k...sometimes these two things do not fit together. Example: pre-k cubbies. Last year the area that is our cubbies was the vain of my existence. Each day mocking me that I hadn't yet found a solution to keep them organized and labeled. Each day more messy than the first. Names ripped off...treasures from the playground spilling out...and when I say treasures what I really mean is pinecones and gumballs. I tried everything. I mean...everything. Bribery. Didn't work. glorious praise for clean cubbies. Eh...could have taken or left it. I even went as far as making a cubby janitor...thinking that maybe..just maybe this would be the trick. Nope. This year...I am conquering the cubbies. He is my attack plan.

A. Make them unbelievably cute and personalized (it also helps that it teaches their name and capital letter). Four year olds like pretty things especially if they have their name on it. Right!?

B. Tape (rather excessively) their names to the bottom of their cubby instead of hanging from the top.

C. Make each little love a "safe place". This is where all of their treasures can be safely kept until Friday. Friday is when we will clean them out so Mommy and Daddy can enjoy our treasures too.

Crossing fingers...I hope...hope...hope this plan of attack works. Cubbies...you are going down!
